I know I’ll see many influencers and writers answering this questions with…’Oh, I get up and meditate and thank all the people out there for my wonderful amazing life. Then I proceed to write in my journal about all the wonderful things in my wonderful life like I have all the time in the world, followed by the world’s healthiest breakfast that no one actually EVER wants to eat’.
I’m not gonna lie to you. My first hour of the morning looks like this ‘I jump out of bed, I’m already late and I don’t have time to do anything with an added bonus sign of DO NOT APPROACH THE BEAST’. I get up and use the restroom and get ready for work. Being in a Director position, I have to look professional which involves a decent outfit and some light makeup. I kiss my wife about 5 times and say bye to my fur-babies before I run to my car. I drive the next hour to my work.
I don’t like morning! I’ve never liked morning. And I’m pretty sure I’ll never like mornings. They are not for me and I would much rather stay in my bed and sleep. I’m a night owl through and through.
If it wasn’t for my job, I would be staying up till 4/5am and getting up in the middle of the day. I love the night, its quiet and peaceful and I can get a lot done.
My mornings are always rushed even when I’ve prepared for them. i.e picked out my outfit for the day, prepared my coffee, prepared my lunch, and packed my bag. I AM ALWAYS Late. I don’t know how it happens. Even when I used to wake up early and try to take some time for myself in the morning, I’d still be late. I’ve just accepted my fate in the mornings and try to work around the chaos.
My family moved to California early 2023 and my routine has not changed all that much apart from having to be in traffic for an hour in the morning before I get to work. That’s the other side of living in San Francisco, CA.
What does your morning look like? Let me know in the comments below. Are you a morning person or a night-owl?
