My yearly reading goal the past 10 years has always been to read 25 books per year. Why 25? Because it averages out to about 1 book every two weeks but leaves about 2 weeks throughout the year to not read if I don’t want to. I’ve always been a reader since I came to the US when I was in 3rd grade. Reading has been my solace, escape, and motivation.
When I was in high school or college, I would read a lot. Usually over 25 books a year. However, when I got a professional career job that required a lot of reading in my day-to-day for work, reading took a back seat which made me really sad. As I mentioned, books have always been my comfort and learning time. A few years ago, I decided to make it a priority to read 25 books a year. This has helped me branch out to many different categories of books because it forces me to find different genres when I get bored of one. My goals was to read 25 books but I managed to read 27 books in 2023.
